I'm only making a few, not all of the Airship Captains will have combat ability.

The thing is, this is my first campaign I've even been committed to and to add salt to the wound, I know nothing about character creation.

What I'm asking for help on this post is the ship captain who's going to be the first they meet.
The party will start at level 5 and I'm planning on making him level 8.
The idea is him being a college of swords bard and a hexblade warlock, whether Warlock or bard is his starting or what he multiclasses into is something I don't know yet, and how to set up such a thing I have no clue about.

Could you all kindly give me some ideas and point me into the right direction?
