Help! Folk hero monk needs a good backstory.

So I'm participating in a one on one session for my first time and what to bring a fleshed out character to the board. It's an ancient Greece with it's own pantheon. Right now I'm thinking of going aasimar monk with the new UA astrol soul path. Any ideas?
