I've been slowly working my spreadsheet-fu to improve my party's quality of life regarding small, tedious things that often get forgotten when playing a longer campaign like the passage of weeks, months, seasons, consuming rations, water, etc. So far my couple of 10 minute Javascript functions and Google Spreadsheets have been just barely enough to keep our DM informed every time we've gone without eating or drinking on a longer-than-expected trek through icy mountainpeaks or gotten lost in an umbral mist on our way to Strahd, and we've almost every time remembered to visit the blacksmith after they've smithed us new wares after working at them a few days. So far, the immediate needs are handled.
But my imagination is kinda stalling to figure out what else a player would want tracked. What would other small things be that tend to get dropped after their cumbersome tracking exceeds their novelty? How does your party for instance track weather, ailments (if you're running a low-fantasy campaign) or living expenses?
