In the campaign that i am currently DMing there are two PCs who are the decendants of a dwarven king who lost his city to a beholder and a orc tribe which the beholder had taken command of.
My players relocated to a nearby town in which they planned how to retake the city. after much consideration they decided to cut of the supply routes for the orc and thus making them starve and inevitably make them crumble. However they didnt acount for what the orcs would do.
The village that earlier had been spared from the orcs and their raids suddenly became a target for the orcs as they became desparate for food. My players felt like shit after this since they caused collateral damage to alot of innocent people...
