So we were going to go undercover into the dragon cult and I decided that the best thing for a disguise was (obviously) giant beards. I vaguely remembered some item that would grow beards, and remembered that it was something Dwarven. After a brief search, our DM confirmed that we could get them, and that they would cost 6000 GP each, we had enough gold for 1, but I had also found an Amulet of Proof against detection and location that was valued at 20,000 GP and that hadn't been useful during the campaign so far.
Long story short, 2 of us have fantastic beards, (the elf rolls with disadvantage each morning), and we've got a few bumped stats.
Beard up or shut up nerds.
Stats:
Belt of Dwarvenkind
Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)
While wearing this belt, you gain the following benefits:
Your Constitution score increases by 2, to a maximum of 20. You have advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) checks made to interact with dwarves. In addition, while attuned to the belt, you have a 50 percent chance each day at dawn of growing a full beard if you’re capable of growing one, or a visibly thicker beard if you already have one.
If you aren’t a dwarf, you gain the following additional benefits while wearing the belt:
You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance against poison damage. You have darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. You can speak, read, and write Dwarvish
Amulet of Proof against Detection and Location
Requires Attunement
While wearing this Amulet, you are hidden from Divination magic. You can't be targeted by such magic or perceived through magical Scrying sensors.
First Campaign, and we are about a dozen sessions in, we're loving in.
