And what is your DM style?
What is your favorite trick?
What players do you like the most?
No need to twist it all the time.
Just make them paranoid and then flip it on them for a bit, and then of course flip it back once they've settled.
I suppose that is the other way of looking at it. You literally play all the allignments. (Probably with the exception of True Neutral)
I forget to prep then pull it all out my ass
I am sometimes guilty of this, but you should never admit it. Just keep the illusion alive.
I do really like this site since it actually goes out of their way to explain their thinking to others. But I think that people are mostly Lawful Good they want to do the right thing and think that they need rules to guide others to do the same. (Maybe I've just been listening to Matt Colville a bit too much). I also think that you don't need to make sacrifices to be good.
I would also love it if every time they ran into decision making they didn't spend 45 minutes arguing over which way to go or what choice to make.
My advice time pressure and in game time passing are your best friend.
A Neutral person might feel bad (like damn that SUCKED and I wish it could be otherwise) but they did what they felt was right and they're ok with it.
I think that this is never the case in the example given. Things like survivors guilt and PTSD exist because people feel they need to atone for being alive. Fuck me I'm bringing the reality into this
In other word I totally agree with the neutral thing upon reading a little more into it, but this argument does not fit since only people with a pretty sever case of anti social disorder will not feel guilty after murdering an innocent. They can tell themselves that they "Had no choice" sadly this doesn't help them. Unless finding help ANY person will not be mentally OK after killing someone in cold blood.
Thanks for not being a douchebag of the internet!
Well I guess I've revoked that statement now sorry about that.
I must admit to not being a fan of the alignment system at all.
But it is pretty usefull as a division tool for spells and such but other than that it usually leads to confusion Apparently mostly for me
But I totally get where you are coming from. I guess it could also be a difference in worldview. Either way, I think I get it now.
Thanks
I'd say those are extremes, but wanting to do the right thing. (Perhaps helping others evactuate when you yourself cannot fight) Or wanting to do the right thing but being otherwise unable do not make you neutral. They make you a coward yes, but not neutral per se.
Edit I will say that this is a personal thing and when compared to the source you cited I'd say you are totally correct. I'm just being stubborn in my thinking
Yeah I couldn't find the original page :/
Aha! Well you should totally try it. Although I obviously biased
All alignments are vague and there can be many levels of how far someone is willing to go.
Giving gold to a beggar because he approaches you is technically considered Chaotic Good. No need to rob a bank or break the law it's the fact that you do it because that's what you feel is right regardless of laws/rules.
I do think most people Neutral or no cling to some form of code. So I'd say Lawful neutral or Lawful Good-ish.
