Hey Reddit!
Wife and I are joining a campaign in the next few weeks, and the GM likes each character to have a little something special/unique to add some flavor to the campaign.
I came up with the following for my Wife's bard; I don't want it to be OP, so was hoping you guys could give me your thoughts and poke holes in the design! Looking for suggestions on how to make this work.
Resonating Amethyst
The purple crystal laying against your chest seems to vibrate to every sound you play, amplifying it and emitting a clear echo.
[Number deemed appropriate (1-2?)] times per long rest you may amplify the strength of a spellโs arcane energies. This must be decided prior to casting the spell. Choose one of the amplification effects below:
Damage Amplification: You may add one additional die to a damage roll (e.g., for a spell that does 2d4 damage, the spell would now do 3d4) if the spell hits. If a spell does multiple types of damage, choose only one for this effect.
Healing Amplification: You may add one additional die to a healing roll (e.g., for a spell that heals 2d4 hit-points, the spell would now heal 3d4).
Impact Amplification: For the purposes of this spell, your spell save DC is increased by 2.
