So, to start out, I'm brand new to Dnd. I really wanted to play, so I ordered the starter set on Amazon, texted a few friends, and went from there. Unfortunately, out of my 4 players, 2 couldn't make it. But alas! 2 showed up, and we had a great time! There was lots of confusion, and Im sure we messed up a bunch of stuff, but we still managed to have a great time! We were playing the Lost Mines of pali-somethingorother, and they managed to stave off the goblin ambush, and decided to continue onto the town to turn in the wagon of supplies. They scoped around, and spent the night at the inn after speaking to the barkeep. (They were playing a Hill dwarf cleric and human fighter btw). They opted for the cheapest lodging possible, and i decided to wake them up withyan attack from a very large rodent (It only did a single point of damage to our heros, as they sleep in their mightiest pajamas). It was quickly killed and cooked for breakfast. They decided to head for the town hall, and met the mean little governor type man, inquiring about work. After being laughed at for accepting a bounty to kill a bunch of orcs and having the door slammed in their faces, the cleric decided to use thaumatergy (Sorry for spelling, im on mobile) to open and close all the windows and doors in the town hall, as well as shaking the earth beneath it. However, he was quickly apprehend by tje town guard (The governor rung the alarm bell). Our human fighter managed to bribe the governor to release him later on, thankfully. Anyway, they eventually made their way to the Cragmaw hideout, eliminating the guaed goblins and continuing along the east side if the cave. They snuck up the trash chute, coming upon Krag and his guard. After a hard fought battle, they managed to kill the goblins and wolf, and knock Krag unconscious. He awoke tied up throughly, and was questioned for information on the rest of the hideout as well as where the travelers he attacked a few days ago were. They then decided to decapitate him, and used his detached head to scare off all the goblins in ths hideout, save Yeemik, the second in command. However, he was ended swiftly, when our human fighter managed a nat20, in which she shot him straight through the eye with her bow. The saved the human prisoner, whos name I can't remember, from the brink of death after he fell from the cliff he was held over. We ended there, and next session I'm thinking of introducing the other players as adventurers in the tavern also seeking to claim the prize for the orc bounty. What do you guys think?
