I dm for a 3-4 person group of 4e players. For the most part I adore my players and I couldn't ask for anything more. The problem is one of them is a newer player, who doesn't always think before her wizard acts.
So far this wizard has chugged a potion without checking what it did (gender change), put on a magical ring without checking it out (permanently attached to her finger and offers a boost to a skill she can't use), and stole the egg of a nahgruul dragonspawn so she could hatch it and raise it (at the risk of her own life from her fellow players who did want to destroy it).
I don't think this player is catching on that not everything is for sure to turn out alright. We've already had one PC death, so she knows it is possible. What should I do to work a little more sense into this player?
