do you/your DM ban any classes/subclasses?

I’m pretty new to dnd, I’ve only played a couple campaigns. I’ve seen some people online say that they or their DM ban certain classes/subclasses for their campaigns. I’ve seen a few that ban artificers in particular

is this normal?

my DM friends have never mentioned doing this so I don’t know if that’s a normal thing and my friends are just chill about it or if they’re in the minority of this

lol right!? No Faries! No tiny creatures doing insane damage and taking massive hits without getting smooshed flat!

I don't allow Faries or Pixies because being able to match the strength of anything two sizes categories greater than you, just doesn't make any sense, including grappling and shoving. Oh and they can fly, so basically never any falling damage. It's too much to think about, so I just don't allow them in my games.
