Needing ideas for a proper class for a DnD character (multiclass ideas also welcome.)
Post Body

Hey there all, this is my first post in the subreddit here, and I was just looking for some ideas on how exactly to make a good class to work with a characters backstory/profession.

In order to shed some light on said character, a friend and I are currently involved in a to level 20 campaign on Roll20 with our old DnD squad from highschool, and we've become aware the DM is certainly not going to pull his punches. As such we decided to make backup characters based on characters from a Divinity 2 campaign we'd done a while back where we played a couple of murder-hobo undead named "Hank Hell" and "Doomhauer".

We've also come up with an idea to justify evil/lawless behavior, essentially the idea being that they both serve a dragon/evil god as part of the "Infernal Revenue Service." Where their job is essentially to resurrect/torment the "D.E.A.D." (Delinquent earners and debtors) who are behind on their taxes to said evil god/dragon until they've gotten their due value out of them at which time they may return to eternal rest.

I was wondering how one might go about creating a class/multiclass with a variety of necromantic and fire based spells that would fit a sort of "Lawful Evil Hank Hill" vibe. (I want to bring the pro-pain), and being as how I've usually played pretty simple classes/multi classes in the past, mostly utility roles, I'm not sure where exactly to begin on all of this.

So far I've been looking potentially into a Cleric of the death domain, also been considering a Warlock or a Wizard but not sure how I might multi-class those to get the desired effect I'm aiming for here, and a class motif that really aligns with the whole joke behind the character.

Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated, and I hope you like the idea we had, we've definitely been having a ball laughing about it and thinking about the creative avenues we can potentially take.
