Beastlands Non-Combat Encounters?

My party of 3 Level 7 players just entered the Beastlands (Top layer: Krigala, the full-sun layer). I've brainstormed a good amount of combat encounters, but can't think of anything else, except for maybe a tense encounter with the Verdant Guild. Currently, the party is travelling with Quorlinn (Kenku god) as their guide.
Most of my inspiration/ideas have come from 2e, though this is a 5e game. I am looking for jungle and savannah encounters. Any ideas welcome!
