My players will be joining a thieves guild soon. My plan is for the guild leader to give them a magical contract to sign. I wanted to write it with enough legalese that it looked good, but not so much that it was just confusing. Also tried to make it fairly loophole free lol. Let me know your thoughts!

This contract, agreement, pact, and/or promissory note is (hereinafter referred to as the “Contract”), and shall be, enforceable upon signing, and through perpetuity, when the individual _____ heretofore and hereinafter known as the “Recipient” agrees to the terms by written, or verbal consent. This agreement will confer to the individual _______, heretofore and hereinafter referred to as the “Scribe” the full faith and force required to collect, retrieve, take, or possess the agreed upon consideration for the transaction of goods as per the outlined Agreements, as well as the full faith and force required to collect, retrieve, take, or possess the agreed upon damages upon violation of the outlined Agreements by the Recipient. This contract, agreement, pact, and/or promissory note remains in effect until the end of life of one or both of the parties, or its dissolution by mutual agreement of both parties.

Agreement 1: Rights and Responsibilities The Recipient, immediately upon signature, is obligated under threat of termination to follow the undermentioned terms of the Contract. Recipient shall, without exception:

-Complete certain tasks, jobs, duties, missions, or assignments as given by the Scribe and accepted on a voluntary basis by the Recipient. Upon completion of a task, job, duty, mission, or assignment as given by the Scribe and accepted by the Recipient, shall provide a share of no less than 15% of the rewards obtained during the execution of a task, job, duty, mission, or assignment to the Scribe. Share shall be based on the current fair market value of all magical and non-magical items, weapons, artifacts, jewelry, currency, and coin. Payment of share shall be due in full within 1 week of completion of task, job, duty, mission, or assignment unless an exception is allowed by Scribe, granted on a case-by-case basis. -Agree to not disclose, copy, keep record, clone, or divulge identity, image, description, whereabouts, activities both legal and illegal of the Scribe. -Agree to not disclose, copy, keep record, clone or divulge the locations, image, description, whereabouts, identities, and activities both legal and illegal of the Scribe’s Organization (hereinafter referred to as the “Organization”) and the Organization Employees (hereinafter referred to as “Employees”). -Agree to provide a small sample of untainted blood to the Scribe, no more than 8mL, for the use in a locating spell.

The Scribe, immediately upon signature, is obligated under threat of termination to follow the undermentioned terms of the Contract. Scribe shall, without exception:

-Agree to provide safe ingress and egress of the Organization buildings, safe houses, warehouses, hovels, and hiding holes, minus any events, situations, occurrences, circumstances, or incidents outside of the Scribe’s control. -Agrees to provide voluntary employment by means of a task, job, duty, mission, or assignment posted to the local job-board, as well as through private offerings. Scribe will offer a fair reward for completion of tasks, jobs, duties, missions, or assignments as well as a majority share of any rewards obtained. -Agree to hold confidential, and not disclose, copy, clone, or divulge the identity, image, description, whereabouts, activities both legal and illegal of the Recipient -Agree to retain confidential control and to not copy, clone, or duplicate Recipient’s blood for any use other than as necessary to cast a locating spell.

Agreement 2: Modification and Termination

The Recipient and Scribe shall retain, the right to modify, change, add, or remove any terms or conditions set forth in the Contract upon mutual agreement by both parties.

The Recipient and Scribe shall retain the right to terminate the Contract without penalty upon mutual agreement by both parties.

Agreement 3: Violation

Any violation of the agreements in the Contract by the Recipient shall immediately brand them a traitor, causing permanent loss of protections and benefits as provided by the Scribe and forfeiture of their right to life, freedom, and wholeness of body.

Any violation of the agreements in the Contract by the Scribe shall immediately render the Contract null and void, and require a penalty payment of no less than 15,000 gold pieces to the Recipient. Payment shall be automatic and immediate via a magical transfer to a location of the Recipient’s choosing.

Signed on by the agreed upon parties on __________ date, under the laws of Arcane Binding.
