Hello I’m a new DM and I used a different system when I was player than anything DND. I’m looking at potions and I was wondering how far these potions can go as far as healing a wound. I have an encounter planned that the party will find an npc from earlier with their belly cut open with the npc holding an arm over the wound to, well I won’t say it because it might gross some out my table doesn’t mind gore. Would a healing potion be able to close the wound or would it need to be a spell of some sort? My party does not have many spells as they will be level 3-4 when the encounter happens.
