Hexblade warlock worth it?

Hello! I need some help deciding if hexblade warlock the right character. I wanted to play a fighter with magic ability without subclasses. (I'm very new) The character is starting off at level 10
But if I'm reading correctly I'm only able to use two spell slots ?? Is that right? What's the point of having 10 spells if you can only cast two until you sleep?! I'm I wrong other then the cool buffs are hexblades the right choice for magic ability?
