Tight corridors make for poor encounter starts and it's starting to frustrate me a bit, what can be done about it?

Our DM is wonderful and a cool guy, this problem mostly lays in the fact that he uses premade maps in foundry. We're doing a dungeon crawl-y campaign and the maps are mostly one-tile corridors into bigger rooms. The issue with this is that basically every encounter starts with hustling and bustling to even get inside the room, we open a door and with the initiative order being what it is, the guy in the front goes last and three of our players get hit by a lightning attack because we're stuck in a line. Since the maps are premade, is there a decent alternative to make the opening parts of the fights less annoying?
