i’ve been trying to create a homebrew magic weapon for a bit, the idea is that it is a pen,quill, stamp or any writing thing that when you use the command extends into its full weapon form. but i need help with getting the desired effect, here’s an example:

on a hit with the weapon you can expend a bonus action to write one of the following words on your enemy, they must succeed a charisma saving throw or be affected by:

‘anoint’: target is affected by the Bless spell ‘despair’: target is affected by the Bane spell ‘stagger’: target is stunned ‘infected’: target is poisoned ‘typhlosis’: target is blind ‘detain’: target is restrained

the effect lasts a number of rounds as your proficiency modifier, or until your concentration is broken

the item has 3 charges every long rest
