So I just joined a new campaign, and I'm working on how I want to roleplay my character.
Her backstory is that she was found as a baby by a church, and was believed to be "the chosen one" by some prophecy or other. She grew up living a pampered, princess-like life, until when she came of age it was found that she wasn't the chosen one, and the clergy cast her out of the church. Now she's basically penniless and living in a world she doesn't know.
First, my struggle is with how to play her in combat. My thoughts have been that she's never really been in a fight, and most of the magic she's learned is for defense/healing. Her lack of experience is going to make her less of a Frontline fighter (which I know goes against the grain of the typical cleric use) and more rear-guard buffs and healing (at least at first). Would this be alright? I know I should ask the table first, but I wanted to get a general consensus.
Secondly, as I said she's lived a very sheltered, pampered life and isn't used to the rough living on the road. I'm trying to come up with a way to roleplay her discomfort without it being straight up whining or complaining, to where the party ditches her due to annoyance. Any ideas?
Thanks all
