This might be an odd post, but let me explain where this rabbithole came from - I was thinking about interesting character idea and got this one for a lawful evil Hobgoblin necromancer whose whole shtick is that he wants to "make it legit in human city", which is why he "plays along the rules". I thought that it made sense because a Hobgoblin, with their military culture, might see social and political interactions as another form of warfare, right?
But here is where my question comes in: all goblin-kind are kinda doomed to be slaves to their god, Maglubiyet, after they die, right? So, I made it so that my Hobbie aims to starve their god by turning goblins into undead, thus starving Maglubiyet so that his people could be "free" - to what end? To make kingdoms and war big, obviously. But I am not sure how lore-friendly, if at all, this is so...help? No prior experience with dnd past PC games, btw
