I play online with some friends for years now and I've always been the DM of the group, but recently one of them decided to run their own campaign and I joined as a player, and here is where my problems started.
We've been playing weekly for the past 3-4 months and I can't shake off my head that my character is just to strong. I don't like powergaming, especially in my own games and I'm not intentionally going for combos or anything, but I'm doing almost half the total damage in a combat encounter (Party of 6).
This started bothering me to the point that I found myself holding out attacks or plays in-game to give some of my mates a chance to shine, and now that we are leveling up I'm second guessing myself and thinking on picking "weaker" options then I originally planned to.
I don't know if it's my DM brain wondering if I'm giving a hard time to my actual DM, and that they don't know how to come up with the issue (most of their experience are as players) or if I'm overthinking this. Any thoughts?
Ps: English is not my first language
Edit: For context we're currently at 5th Level (campaign started at 3rd) and I'm playing a melee Gloom Stalker Ranger, planning on taking my next 3 levels in Scout Rogue. The party is composed of a Circle of Stars Druid, a Circle of Dreams Druid, an Undying Warlock/Lunar Sorcerer, an Abjuration Wizard and a Death Cleric.
