Hey everyone. I’m dealing with a player in one of my games I’m in that is giving me and the group a bit of trouble.
I’ll keep things short and succinct.
There seems to be a lot of main character syndrome going on, and almost got the entire party killed in one fell swoop (2 died but were brought back), for his character to tell epic tales in-game. A complete disregard for everyone else’s characters in one single huge moment. It didn’t sit right with me and a few others it seems. To which I made it known, or at least I believe the message was delivered (not sure if he actually caught on or not, wasn’t exactly subtle), that I did not enjoy this disregard from him in-game.
I talked to the DM, which proved helpful and not helpful at the same time, but it doesn’t seem like he will handle the situation in any meaningful way.
Would it be considered generally wrong to build my character further to be essentially the one that keeps his in check?
I’m not sure what to do further, as I have the intuition that this will continue. I feel like continuing with the mindset of “he needs to be stopped,” will only ruin the game, but I have done mostly everything I feel I can do.
