Creating a cat wizard

Post Body

I had the idea of creating a cat wizard, where a wizard switched places with their familiar,an orange cat. Their name is

Thing is everybody things the human is still the quit Aric Twzad (anagram for catwizard) and their familiar is the cat. All the while the wizard is the cat and the human the familiar.

I wanted to create this char in DND beyond and was thinking if I should buy the tabaxi race or just use a variant human? Also what stats should I invest what abilities? I chose arcana and investigation as proficiencies. I allready rolled 16 for int and char ( for keeping up the secret), 15 for con, 13 dex, 12 for atr and wis. And ability score increase for int and Dex.

Do I go with transmutation school? Wich school would do best to embody my "mistake"

I got the haunted one background ,but I'm not sure if it fits the horror of my switching souls. Are there other backgrounds better fitting? It's more a monster hunter thing?

What languages would fit a cat, Leonin? The other two I chose where draconic and Sylvian because I recognise them, but I think there might be better languages.
