The Dungeon Master for a game I was prepping for removed me from it. After thinking about our conversations, they believed I was looking for something different than the campaign they planned on running. Of course, this made me upset. We just had our Session 0 and I felt I was really hitting it off with everybody. The DM was really experienced too and provided clear rules he'd like us to
follow and materials for creating characters. I was very excited, and that's where I think lies my problem. I was asking the DM questions about how I could integrate my character (a fairy barbarian) into the world he created. From what I can tell, I think he was worried I would be more focused on my character than the story at large, and didn't have enough time before the campaign actually began to go over it with me. But what really upsets me is he didn't give me a chance to speak with him, as I was removed from the discord and I can no longer message him. I know there's probably more for me to unpack on my end and not looking for a shoulder to cry on. What I want to know is what people think I did wrong and how I could avoid doing it in the future when I'm first joining a game.
