I feel like the term divorced dad is sort of...weird. Before I was married, I was single. Then I was married and eventually became a dad. Now that I am no longer married, I am...divorced? But I am also single, yes? So why do we use the term divorced dad rather than single dad?
If I did not have children, I would call myself single, without question.
I used divorced dad because it acknowledged that there was a previous relationship. My ex used single mom because she got more attention and didn’t have to acknowledge my existence.
