I filed for divorce about three months ago after I found out my wife was in another relationship. The divorce is far from being finalized, as most of the time, her lawyer can't get a hold of her. Anyways, we've been going by the proposed parenting schedule (50/50) which hasn't been officially signed yet because...her lawyer can't get a hold of her. During this past week, her AP (who is from out of state 1000's of miles away) has been on vacation at my wife's place. How do you handle it when your kids are spending time with the AP? So far, the kids haven't been left alone with them, but it still bothers me. Granted, things weren't great in our relationship, but this person was the catalyst that broke apart our family. Also at this point, I don't know if the kids know that this is mommy's new lover, or if they only know them as "mommy's friend from Fortnite.". I've got three boys all under the age of 12. It's one of those things where I'm trying not to react (because I believe that's what my wife is trying to get me to do), but at the same time, it just seems to be so messed up. I mean, I think it's too soon to even introduce a significant other to the kids, let alone the person she was cheating on me with. I mean, at this point, I can't even imagine being in another relationship, but I feel like I would wait a long time before introducing the kids, and at least till the divorce was finalized.
Sounds like she’s just dragging things out to be a pain. If she’s home with the kids she can answer a call. I would start putting a timeline for responding. My ex would travel out of state to be with hers. She was unresponsive at those times. We started putting in clauses that gave her so much time to respond before she would be subject to whatever was decided by the lawyers. My kids lived with me and I eventually got 100% custody.
