How to prepare for the divorce financially? I am concerend about the future and trying to figure out the "affordability" of such a move.
Post Body

Hello everyone,

tl;dr I struggle to find the courage to start the process over financial concerns, and I'm afraid we are all going to end up broke.

Long story short, We're near our 40's, 2 kids 5 and 8. we live in ontario Canada. our relationship is expired. we're together because we both understand it will ruin us financially.

we don't own anything significant and have some savings. so basically it's a split of money in some form. she gets 49k a year and I'm around 70k.

how can I check the "affordability" of our divorce? I don't want any of us to struggle more than we'll have to and ofcourse the kids. the ideal would be shared custody of some sort.

how can I forsee the economic aspect of this? how much the process itself cost?

Thanks, answers will be appreciated !
