Been separated for 6 months. Went through lawyers and sold our house and everything. Both ex wife and I have our places now. My kids having been saying things like “ mom says maybe one day we’ll all live together again.” And “ mom says you two are still married.” I talked to her about this because my son said she told him I’m not allowed to tell them that we’re not married anymore. The kids constantly ask why I can’t go places with them and their mom and I say we’re not married anymore. ( we’re in Canada so technically we’re legally married for another 6 months) he then says that mom said maybe one day she’ll remarry! We cleared the air about what the kids said but she kept saying we are still married.

Guess I’m just trying to figure out why that’s important to her? The kids have a false sense of hope we will get back together and I feel telling them that we’re still married is making it worse? Why not be direct with them? ( 4 and 6) Why does she keep saying we’re still married but is dating other people and living separately? Mind games? This is also someone who can’t look me in the eye and barely talks to me when I see her.
