I’ve won temporary orders as a father, I’m in much better financial standing, I have a mortgage when she is in a small apartment, she has a two bedroom with a toddler girl living there she has with a recent boyfriend, and is now living with a new boyfriend. My son is 7 years older than the half sister.
While the child resides with me, his grades are struggling due to switching to the local public school, but he isn’t failing anything and was promoted to the next grade. He has a reading tutor to help.
Mom has had 8 residences in the last four years, I’ve had two (went from rent house to buying a house), she just hasn’t been very stable as an adult, moving in and out of friends and parents’ houses.
The child has now lived with me for five years, she tried to uproot him last year and that’s when the judge awarded me temporary orders. She hired an amicus attorney for the child and intends to fight at final obviously.
It seems clear cut that I should win final trial, but how often do temporary orders not end up being the final result?
Thanks.
