Greetings fellas,

Currently going through the process and I’m feeling like I’ve been held hostage financially. Future ex has had her legal representation financed by her family, I’ve had to go into substantial debt just for an attorney. I’ve paid over $6k in child support, gave up all my portion of the equity in our home that recently sold and still her hand is always out for more. Just recently her car got totaled and she kept the entirety of the insurance payout to by herself a brand new vehicle, my car was totaled last month and she is keeping half the insurance payout because I wasn’t allowed to be dropped from our shared auto insurance or medical insurance so the debt to her continues to grow. I’m at my wits end and have never felt this insecure in my life. I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance that it does get better because it seems there’s no end in sight. She told me this morning I’m in the hole $27k and I have no idea where that amount came from. Furthermore that this will be the framework for mediation (Washington State).
