Hello gentlemen,
So I'm inching closer and closer to telling my wife that I want a divorce. Been married 10 years, have two kids and live in CA. After lurking here and on /DB and /hlcommunity, I think my situation is unique because my wife is the breadwinner (by far). I'm employed but she has always made close to three to four X what I've made.
After doing research, I still feel a bit lost on what could and should happen. And what I should fight for. Like, I'm going to seek alimony but I don't feel entitled to the house she basically paid for nor any bit of her retirement accounts? Should I? Also, I really hope we can use a mediator instead of lawyers. But should I still consult a lawyer first? How does that all work?
TL;DR – Can anyone help shed some light on what the divorce process looks like for the non-breadwinner man?
Thanks guys, really appreciate it.
