About 6 weeks ago my wife started seeking a divorce. Once I got through the absolute crisis phase, we've been working really well together on all kinds of future plans, splitting assets, custody, etc. I would definitely call it an amicable divorce.
Part of my coping mechanism was to rebuild my plans for the future that had been decimated. I have a pretty clear vision of what I want from my life after we unmarry, and I have a lot of things I am looking forward to.
However my wife (who initiated and won't reconcile) has no vision for the future. We talk about what we look forward to and she's struggling to find any positives at all.
So I guess I am looking for some real world stories. What was a positive outcome, something you maybe didn't expect in your life after divorce? Clearly we aren't expecting a fairy tale ending, but I want to help her find some hope for happiness as a single person.
