My wife and I have been married for six years. She's controlling and verbally/emotionally abusive toward me (I let most of this happen by not standing up for myself). She's also quick to anger and won't let me feel angry. I feel more like a butler than a husband.

She recently had two different emotional affairs with two different guys. We have a child together (toddler). We separated and moved out of the house. It's been two months now.

I reconnected with a woman I met 18 years ago. We've been seeing each other and she encouraged me to file for divorce. She gave me the strength.

My wife keeps telling me she can change, the she misses me, wants me back. She cries in front of me. We go to marriage counseling. I feel like I want to go back but worry that if I do nothing will have changed. If I go back I lose the woman I'm with now. At the same time I want as much time with my child. What should I do?
