This divorce when from just shitty to flat out ugly in no time flat. It was supposed to be relatively painless as she said she didn’t want anything from me other than I take care of my children financially (which I was never against) and all I wanted was to not be kept out of our children’s lives. She got this “hot shot bulldog lawyer” now and all of a sudden she wants half of everything, alimony, child support, you name it. There’s a guardian ad litem involved that’s also god awful expensive. I feel like I’m drowning here in all these legal fees. I’ve had to use up all my savings, taken out several loans to cover legal costs, and it all keeps mounting. Her family is paying all her legal fees and I’m doing it all alone. How did you all handle the costs? How did you make ends meet? Idk what to do and all I want is to not be removed from my children’s lives but her lawyer is doing everything she can to make it so. Idk what to do any any advice on how any of you out there are handling this would be a huge help. I know I can’t be the only one in this boat.. fml
