My wife left me a year ago for another man. I handled the initial shock badly (yelled at her to leave the house) but after that I was respectful. I did stick up for myself in the mediation, and I think she expected me to give in (which is what I usually did).

I was a great husband and father (she has told me this). I’m not perfect of course, but I took care of most of the kids needs, cooking, and an equal share of the housework. I was never abusive.

So why does she hate me now? I know deep down that it’s not me, it’s her and her fiancé, and she is not the same person she was when we were together, but it still hurts when she has to be so bitter and mean when I am the wronged party here.
