Splitting Property in a Divorce
Post Body

Hello R/Divorce,

I never thought I'd be here today. I'm going to spare you the details as to why I may be getting a divorce.

Anyways my wife and I have some property and I'm not sure how it would normally be split. I'm only going to discuss the big ticket items as minor items are not of concern to me right now.

We own a 2011 car outright, it's worth about $12,000. She drives that car.

I have another 2011 car that has $16,000 left on it.

I have $12,000 in student loans

I'm not concerned about the furniture. However the two debts and the paid off car are of concern. How would this normally be split? I'm in Wisconsin.

Thank you,
