For two weeks we've grieved the death of our marriage and now I (M40) and my wife (F40) will begin telling close family and friends of our decision. They are going to be shocked and I'm getting so nervous about reactions, questions they'll have, and how to manage all of that while continuing to be a fully functional, fully employed adult.
We're going to send texts at first individually to family members. Some friends we are likely going to tell jointly given were doing this amicably and want to reinforce that people don't need to choose sides (although some may, especially when certain details come to light).
Please wish us luck. I have found this sub pretty supportive and hope it stays that way. 💙
