I live in Illinois and have just told my wife I want out for good. I want to completely set her and our child up. She can have the house, my 401K, alimony, child support, whatever...I don't care. I will start from zero. No, I'm not feeling sorry for myself. Yes, I've thought it through. I literally don't care what the consequences are. I'm simply asking can I literally give her 50% of my income plus whatever is in my 401K and take on any of the debts we owe together. She is unhappy but she is worried about finances. I will set her up if it sets me free. So please, once again, no lecturing me. I just want to know if I can do what I want to do, no matter how insane it sounds. I'd rather be destitute than live the lie I'm in any longer.
