Looking for guidance regarding 4+ multiplayer

Was recently trying to use the set up for a party greater than the allotted four slots and play with % so i followed the instructions on this steam guide but haven't had any success. I realize the guide has since been outdated but i Wanted to ask if anyone has had any luck with getting it to wok on their end and if so how.
