Which books need to be kept for quests?

In the first city there's a book worth around 900 gold, the description of which says it can be used to translate the faerie language. I figured that was important so I kept it.
Then I read there was a book needed to talk to titans, or else you get in a fight, and now I'm paranoid about selling any vaguely unique sounding books, like the rat exterminator book.
Can anyone tell me what books I actually need to keep, so I can stop carrying around a small library?
