Locked, buried chest that I cannot figure out how to open

I'm in Act 1. Up near the Shriekers (at X604 Y243), I "find something." I dig it up, and it's a chest. It's locked, but you can't even try to pick it (the option is greyed out). You can't examine it, so no use attacking it. You can't pick it up, move it, or teleport it. I've looted everything in the camp just outside the shriekers, and I cannot find a key. I've searched online, and maps I've found of all the chests don't show this one. Is anyone aware of this chest and how to open it?
