Welp, I think it's finally where I want it to be and how I envisioned it from the beginning. I bought the Base E5 a couple years ago with plans to upgrade as I could. Today, I "finished" (ha!) the project with some new 700x47c Pathfinder Pros having worn my original 38c set down to replacement window.
Upgrades:
- GRX400 group
- Roval Terra C wheels
- Redshift ShockStop system (seat post and stem)
- Specialized Pathfinder Pro 700x47c tires
- CrankBros Stamp 7 Large pedals
- WTB Pure chromoly saddle
This has been a labor of love. I damn near gave up on this bike a few times...probably because of my lack of patience here and there. But I've absolutely beaten on this bike with rides and travel and it's as solid as the day I bought it. I'm not sure you can beat this bike for the money. The Base itself was just fine, but I like to tinker. I'm glad I did.
Btw...I'm really glad I never gave up on it.
Off to give her a bath...
