Money Calculations Seem Weird
Post Body

Let me start by saying this game is AWESOME. Definitely some of the most fun I've had in a space fairing game to date! The bugs can get a bit annoying but my crashing has been very minimal.

So, as someone who's played a fair bit of Stellaris, you'd simply have a number denoting your overall income. This is how you know if you're gaining or losing currency, and you know exactly what you can afford. If you have 100 energy credit income, you can build up a fleet running you 40 credits a month, and you'd have 60 credits left over to do whatever with.

In DW 2, it seems this number is more or less like an after calculation that keeps fluctuating. In multiple ways.

So for starters, the number denoting how much money you're getting / losing seems to constantly fluctuate. Not to mention, you can be negative and still be gaining money. This leads to a bit of inconsistency and usually after I make a purchase, I just check whether or not AFTER the fact to see if it was even a good idea in the first place. Also when you make a big purchase sometimes you see that number dip below 0 and it's honestly quite funny.

Secondly, it seems you just lose money randomly. As in my money might be 1,000, then after 1,500 income I lose 400 bucks, and it can constantly repeat.

Am I the only one that finds this slightly offputting? I think finding some way to make the number more constant and accurate would be great. Like if I'm getting 1,000 dollars, I'd like to know that I definitely am making that much.
