About After Hours at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World...
Post Body

*Sorry for this being this long, I wasn't expecting it to be this long*

If you're thinking about doing the "After Hours" event, I would highly recommend it.

I went for the first time Saturday night (March 16th) to the one at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World (Orlando), and it was fantastic. Longest I waited was 1/2 hr for Slinky Dog, and that was right after it opened back up for the night (it was closed for a bit about halfway through the event). I was able to get on Tower of Terror 11 times in a row without waiting more than maybe 2-3 minutes. For both Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror, they kept the doors open leading from the pre-show to the loading area and we were told that we could stay and watch if we wanted (the videos were kept on constant loop) or we could walk on through (since Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror are two of my more favorite rides, I've seen these shows so many times I could spit out the entire thing word for word if asked), which made getting on so much faster. Ice cream, popcorn, and drinks (soda bottles you can get during normal park hours and bottles of Dasani) were free all night (they were "included in the price") and to my knowledge, unlimited (I didn't get a lot of food/drinks, nor was I outside long enough to hear any cast members say anything to guests about limiting taking food). They also had Woody's Lunchbox and I think another quick service like Woody's Lunchbox open where you could buy food as well).

I rode Tower of Terror most of the night (I got all my pictures, a total of 11 times during the event, and 13 times for the day) and the cast members were fantastic. They all stayed "in character" all night (which I imagine isn't extremely hard but not the easiest at 11:00 at night). One cast member, for the last 1/2 hr or so hid right behind the door inside the room where you watch the pre-show or hid right behind the one pillar you pass as you leave the line and enter the pre-show room, so that he would be right on your right-hand side as you pass the pillar to spook guests (when you don't see it coming). Another didn't say a single word and, when looking a certain way [had to describe but the best I could put it: head tilted down but eyes kept put. Think puppy dog eyes but more menacing. You know the look (I hope). And he didn't break character once. Even after the 5th or 6th time I passed him, smiling like an idiot because of how creepy it was and how in-character he stayed (he was there for most of the event, being there since the beginning, and I wasn't expecting the cast members to stay in-character like they did, it made me so happy)].

It might seem expensive, but it was well worth the money. If you don't do roller coasters or drops, Hollywood would be the worst choice for you, but as someone who LOVES this type of stuff, it was perfect. Hoping I go back soon so I can experience After Hours at Magic.

I wanna end this with giving special thanks to every cast member that worked any part of the event. Every cant member I interacted with was fantastic and seemed glad we were there. I could imagine they all just wanted to be home, but they sure didn't seem like it. Knowing from working late nights in customer service, it sucks. But not a single cast member I interacted with made it seem like they were upset they were there or that I, or anyone else, was there (I know that's part of their job, but I've had a few interactions my last few visits with cast members that were unpleasant or made me feel like I was being a burden to them). And a special thanks to the cast members over at Tower of Terror, for making every ride feel like the first (except for the last couple, where the cast member actually recognized me since I rode so much that night and engaging in conversation with me about how many times I was on. I wanna give special thanks to her. It honestly made my night so much more special).

One more thing: if anyone knows who I can contact or where I can contact someone about cast member compliments (I don't know what the technical name Disney uses for it, unfortunately), please let me know (it's in regards to the After Hours team, if you were wondering why I'm adding this to the end of my post about it)
