Help choosing Disgaea game on switch

I’m looking for a Switch game and have always wanted to get into a Disgaea game.
I’ve played beginning bits of 1, 5 and recently 7 but, never stuck with them or got far.
Over the past couple years I’ve played a few other TRPGs and enjoyed them so I thought I would give Disgaea a real shot this time around.
If I was going to choose one which would be the best to get into?
Best characters, best systems, best story, best music? Best overall.
