What is everyones favorite iteratin of the Item World?

I've played all of the disgaea games (6 not much post game I really was not having fun) and just wonder what everyone's favorite versions of the item world (or even chara world) are. As much as I love 7 I do think the item world feels a bit bland in contrast to some other titles. Let me know your thoughts.
