I often have conversations with people who, in my opinion, constantly belittle the nature of reality. They act as though it’s simple thing, and easy to understand or quantify. Like science either does or will eventually explain everything. They ignore the fact that whatever this is that we are currently experiencing - reality, life, whatever you want to call it - is unable to be truly captured in words, pictures, or proofs. There is something here and now, the fact of existence, and it is magical. It’s more than just stuff, it’s more than our intellect can grasp. When people pretend like this is not the case, it just feels like they’re not giving credit where credit is due. Almost as if they are placing their own understanding of reality above reality itself. Although I don’t blame anyone for doing this, especially in todays society, where we’re basically trained to do this. What do you guys think? Do you ever run into this? Do you even agree with me?
