Lido shuffle vs big shot

So I ran into a little gem tonight called, Lido Shuffle by Boz Scaggs. As I'm listening I'm like, "I know this song!" But it wasn't the song I was thinking. The song I was thinking is big shot by Billy Joel. If you haven't heard either of them (which I'm sure most of u have heard big shot) please go listen to them on YouTube real quick. Sound Damn near identical! Lido shuffle was on scaggs 76' album, big shot was on Joel's 78' album. There is no credit of either song to the other at all on either side. I'm just wondering why?
