Post Body

There was a time when I saw a Reddit post on r/dating or r/dating_advice and the OP said he couldn't find a girlfriend. So, I suggested that he might as well just stay single forever and be a good uncle instead. I mean, that's what I would do. I am single, unmarried, unpartnered, without children, but my overseas relatives do have children -- well, at least my older cousins do. This just means the next generation will get smaller, but hey, more wealth for the next generation as they will inherit wealth from more ancestors! The Reddit OP agreed with my idea and said he could be a good uncle. Then I decided to take the opportunity and PM that guy, wondering if he would date me over the Internet. We could be... I don't know, online chat buddies or pen pals or international friends. He's British Asian; I'm Asian-American. But he just ignored me afterwards. Apparently, he was not as desperate as I thought. Man, I really thought we could be online chess buddies, playing chess together online. Or maybe we could collaborate on a comic book project. But nope, that didn't happen.

I never have any luck on r/roleplay . I would PM the person, and the person may reply back, but in one or two post, they completely ghost me. Nowadays, I don't even try that forum. I don't even care.

On r/ComicBookCollabs, I try to get people to collaborate. People show up, but they don't follow up on the project. And later people who arrive on the scene think that I have got my hands full with the earlier people. *sigh* The only person who has actually agreed to work with me doesn't come from Reddit at all; we met on another website called Scribophile and I just volunteered to be his comic artist. But he has other responsibilities, of course, like work and taking care of his grandfather. At least, he sounds like he's committed.

Anyway, I am just going to mind my own business and do whatever I have to do. My dream goal is to have a stable day job, and maybe on the side, improve my skill set for the company and go for corporate positions later. And maybe do a side gig as well, like creating art and writing stories.
