Emiel was a sinner. A traitor to the God emperor of mankind. A heretic. He had grown up on a planet made up of mostly water. Working on the ships to bring in fish. It was grueling and dangerous work. It wasn’t all bad however, some of the fish would have sharp spines or the equipment would have jagged edges. He got cut the first time by a spiny fish. He relished in the pain, it was cleansing, freeing of the mind and senses. After that first time is when he started hearing the whispers. A mistress of pain and pleasure. These were her domain. The god emperor was nothing more than a puppet.

Emiel beloved these words as truth and followed them. He would bring pain upon himself in the name of his mistress. Soon his deeds were discovered however. Branded a heretic he was to be punished. But what punishment would do? Death was to good. “It pain for your so called mistress is what you desire, then you shall have it. You will serve the god emperor.” The woman’s words echoed in his head still. He was sentenced to man a penitent engine, a machine of pain and death. It was glorious.

The main plot for this is Emiel being conscripted into the Adepta Sororitas as a penitent engine pilot. Were he will be forced to fight for the emperor.
