Of course, there were always rumors about us. And your boyfriend usually didn't like me very much. Sometimes you would sleep over my place and when they found out that we shared a bed, it almost always caused a fight. But we never thought of each other that way. We loved each other, but we weren't in love. We were brokenhearted when we had to go to different universities for financial reasons. But we would still drive 2 hours to see each other on the weekends. My college friends became your college friends.

When we graduated and got jobs in neighboring towns, it only made sense for us to become roommates. Rent was ridiculously expensive, so we found a place in between our offices.

We have been out of college and roommates for about a year and it's been wonderful. We throw parties and have a busy social life, but we both have been single for a while. Neither of us is sure why. I guess we have just been enjoying each other's company too much to notice.
